Here we go with the video of the week section where I bring to you a great inspirational video found on internet throughout the work week, it could be a motion graphics or an animation, 2d or 3d, even a trailer or music video with some great design or animation techniques.
For this week I found an excellent animation from Jorge Garcia. He’s a Colombian guy who was lucky enough to get accepted into the Ringling College of Art and Design Computer Animation program, and make what he wanted, animations. Now he je just finished his senior year at Ringling and as final project he came out with this excellent short film animated Cat’s Meow, which is a little piece of work really funny with an excellent animation.
But one of the most interesting things from Jorge is his summer interning at Sony Pictures Imageworks, thanks to hes talent he’s been awarded with the 2008-2009 Sony IPAX scholarship, which is is intended to build stronger relationships with established academic programs and to nurture and grow future generations of digital talents, like him.
Now after graduated from Ringling College his short has been accepted into the Animation Block Party, to be show in a big screen for a lot of animation fans, students and professional companies, a good start for this animator.

Btw, lately I’ve seen Partly Cloudy by Pixar and it’s totally a good short animated film.
@Oridusartic: yes, great quality, and I’ve seen some others animation from the same school and they have, i Think is a good school.
For Partly Cloud I’ve seen in on Internet but i wait this week to go to cinema and see it, then I’ll have an opinion in animation related (I obviously think is awesome), because the story is amazing.

Haha you’re right. Since Partly Cloudy is the opening movie before Up so, it’s more recommended to watch it in cinema. I also watched it in cinema last time.
yes, I would try to see up on 3d, because some friends told me is much better, and after Up, waiting for Toy Story2
He really earned that Sony IPAX scholarship, didn’t he? I don’t even have headphones here at work so I watched that clip without the sound, and I still loved it!
Something tells me we’ll be seeing many movies from him in a short while.
Yes he did, and i thik he’s doing really well after the graduation, and i hope we see a lot of things from him
